On 15 November 2012 Minister Nikolaos Dendias, Greek Minister for Public Order and Citizen Protection visited the headquarters of the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) in Malta where he held a meeting with Dr Robert K. Visser, EASO Executive Director. Minister Dendias's visit underlines the importance of EASO's work in Greece. The meeting followed a visit by an EASO delegation to Greece, earlier this week, during which an amendment to the EASO-Greece Operating Plan was signed. This plan supports the new First Reception Service, the Asylum Service, and the Appeals Authority. It also provides support to the backlog clearance procedure which is currently underway.
