On 29 March 2017, a delegation of representatives of the European Parliament (from the EPP party) visited the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) in Malta to discuss EASO’s strategic and operational priorities. The delegation met with EASO’s Executive Director, Jose Carreira and the Management Team of the Agency.

The delegation took part in discussions on the strategic and operational priorities of EASO, including the situation of the Asylum in the EU, the Agency’s work on Relocation and the latest updates on the operational activities in the hotspots in Greece and in Italy. Other topics discussed, were the newly proposed Regulations and Directive related to the Asylum Acquis, in particular the European Union Agency for Asylum.
