The practical guide and tools on Interpretation in the Asylum Procedure are primarily intended for interpreters working in the asylum procedure. In addition, they are useful for interviewers, interpreter coordinators, quality assurance officers and any other people working or involved in the field of international protection.

Interpreters play a key role in all stages of the asylum procedure. They act as a mirror between all actors involved in the process. A particularly important role of interpreters is enabling the interviewer and the applicant to communicate with each other. 

The practical guide and tool were jointly developed by the EUAA and the Intergovernmental Consultations on Migration, Asylum and Refugees (IGC). The guide and tools combine the wealth of expertise of both the EUAA Asylum Processes Network and the IGC transatlantic network of interpreting experts.
