Learning outcomes & description

DESCRIPTION

The aim of this module is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to assist in identifying applicants for international protection who might fall under the Dublin procedure and to refer their cases to the Dublin Unit.
This module focuses on the understanding of the Dublin III regulation and the actors involved in the wider asylum procedure, without going into the technicalities of the Dublin system. It targets national authorities involved in the Dublin procedures from the perspectives of different practitioners, such as registration officers, case officers, reception officers and asylum officials involved in the provision of information (e.g., at disembarkation points), along with local authorities that may deal with applicants for international protection.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of this module, the learner will be able to:
  1. Outline the responsibility criteria and the main steps in the Dublin procedure under the Dublin III regulation and relevant provisions of the Eurodac regulation and the visa information system regulation
  2. Identify indicators based on the responsibility criteria under the Dublin III regulation
  3. Apply communication techniques to collect evidence and provide information under the Dublin III regulation, in line with EUAA guidelines
  4. Determine whether a case should be referred to the Dublin Unit and, if so, what information to include

DELIVERY METHOD

This module is delivered through a blended learning methodology (online and face-to-face). Online learning contains learning activities that assess progress toward the learning outcomes, and the face-to-face session focuses on complex elements that require discussion.
