Selection phase in the context of resettlement and humanitarian admission

DESCRIPTION

The aim of this module is to prepare the learner to perform logistic and case related activities which are necessary to prepare, implement and finalize a selection mission. The module also provides knowledge on the selection phase as one of the key phases in resettlement and humanitarian admission process, applicable EU legislation and different section methods which can be applied by EU Member States. 

This module addresses the key aspects of resettlement selection missions through a blended learning approach. The asynchronous component consists of three sub-modules covering mission preparation, selection interviews, and post-selection activities, with learners practicing various operational resettlement tools at each stage. It builds on this foundation, providing deeper exploration of key topics such as mission team creation, handling unexpected situations, stakeholder briefings, and the Union Resettlement Framework Regulation. Interactive activities like case scenario analysis, group discussions, and role-playing ensure practical application of learning outcomes.

At the end of this module, the learner will be able to:

3. Prepare the relevant activities to finalise a selection mission

DELIVERY METHOD

This module is delivered through a blended learning methodology (online and face-to-face). The self-paced component includes animated content, reading materials, and multiple-choice questions to help learners assess their progress. The interactive session focuses on complex topics through case analysis, discussions, and role-playing. Throughout the module, learners engage with operational tools relevant to the selection phase.

ASSESSMENT STRATEGY

The assessment involves analyzing a realistic case scenario aligned with the job tasks covered in the module. Learners will be provided with a mock Refugee Registration Form and required to respond to six open-ended questions, demonstrating their understanding and application of key concepts.
